So a year back, I was on my way to Austin for the first time - yes, one year already went by. And so much happened during that time.
Sometimes it still feels like yesterday when I went to the travel agency for the first time to ask for a flight, and now when I come in they wave at me and say things like "Ah Frau Zwingler, Austin, Texas again?" hehe - wow that feels really good when you are such a good customer that the people know your name and know where you will travel to. (A bit like the book store where I buy all the time.)
So this was the fourth time now - but it is always something really special. This time it was the snow in Germany. It started snowing like 45 minutes before my first flight to London left. We had a delay of nearly an hour and because of that I nearly missed my connection flight to Chicago. But in the end, I arrived in Austin, at home.

I stood at the arrival hall, I was a few minutes too early and the escalator where we wanted to meet was closed because of constructions. So I went the other escalator down to see if Josh would wait downstairs there. But he didn't so I went back up and there he stood at a pillar, smiling all over his face!
We closed each other in the arms, too happy to be together again as that we could speak.
"Should we get your bag?"
"Hehe, well, it will come tomorrow - I nearly missed my connection in London, and my bag didn't make it right in time. So you have to lend me a shirt and underwear til tomorrow."
"Awww - hehe, see you should always let some cloth here then you wouldn't have the problem now.
Well - I was stinky (as I always be after I travelled on a plane - don't ask me why), but I also wanted a bocaburger from Whataburger as I missed them nearly as much as I missed Austin. So before we went home, we made a quick stop at Whataburger - hmmm yummy yummy.
The next day I was running around in boxers and t-shirt. The stupid airline couldn't tell when my stuff would come. All I wanted were fresh panties? Was that too much to ask for? Fresh panties, simple fresh and clean panties - MY panties! Oh you can't imagine how happy I was when they finally arrived. I was grabbing my bag, run upstairs and put on beautiful fresh and clean underwear!

As I arrived on a Friday, we had the whole weekend for cuddling on the couch.
The next two weeks went by without anything exciting happened. Well, what will you expect when Josh has to go to school? At least we always had really long weekends, as Friday was one of his free days. But do you really have to do something every day when you can be together with the one you love? I don't think so and that's why I enjoyed this two weeks a lot as well!

And then came spring break...
We had long discussions what we want to do in that week. Corpus Christi was one idea but finally we decided to save some money and go to Athens and Houston instead.
Josh's mummy is always so cute when we visit her. And she made a lot of stuff with us while we were there. We went to cinema and saw Secret Window and we went to Taylor Zoo! Yes, yes, can you believe? Taylor has a Zoo and it is nice too! Not very big (but bigger then Austin Zoo, but that is a special Zoo so you can't really compare both) but we had a good time there. And the weather was good too! It was the first day where I could wear flops without being afraid that I will get cold feet.
The day before we wanted to go to Houston, we made a picnic at the lake, and Tala dog was there too and she had fun as well. She was sitting on her blanket and was all excited and sometimes it looked like she would smile, I bet she did because it was a nice night, with veggie dogs, potato salad and beer... but best of all was that Josh' mummy made me a belated birthday cake! And it was so yummy!
Sadly we couldn't stay longer, as Wendy waited for us in Houston.

We arrived and a little barking, snoring and squeaking puppy welcomed us at the door. It was Stella, the new puppy dog.
Smokey wasn't so happy that we were in Houston now, as he and Vinnie aren't the best friends - he stayed in our room nearly the whole time. But the new litter box he got gave him a feeling of security. We still don't know what he did in there, but he used it 10 times or more in the first night!
The next day we went to Galveston. We started the day with a good breakfast at Telewinks best thing you can do when you plan to stay a day at the beach.
As closer as we came to the beach side, as thicker became the mist which came from the sea. And it was windy - so no nice beach weather at all. But we didn't really care, as we found this sweet minigolf court we smiled all over our faces and our day was saved.
No, we don't plan to grow up, we like minigolf way to much.
But - also when you have a day full of sea mist, you will be exhausted afterwards and so we decided not to go to the rodeo which was in Houston, but stay at home.
After a night of real good rest (sorry, I don't know how often Smokey used his litter box that night) we stood up and had breakfast with Wendy at Le Peep (Tommy said good bye the day before as he went to Mexico for the weekend), we had to say bye bye to her at the afternoon as well.
Off the road to Austin we were again.

Music festival in Austin - we totally forgot and so we stand on the street and could drive only really slow - but we weren't mad, as we wanted to stop at Whataburger (where else do you think?). No, we became mad when we arrived at home and noticed that plumbers where there when we were away.
There was a problem with the toilet (so we have no idea how that could happened as we got a new toilet in August...) - so, it would be ok if the plumber would come and fix it and leave a not, but no, this plumber came, made a mess and didn't leave a note. *grrrrrr* *shakes fist at him*
Well - anyway, we enjoyed our weggie burger and were glad to be back again. As nice it is to travel around being home again is still the best.
The next week went by, without anything special, just two lovebirds who can't get enough of each other we were.
But on Friday we went to San Antonio. Josh wanted to see some penguins as no zoo around have them. But Sea World has and so we drove to it.
Oh they not only have penguins, you know? But we spend the most time there. It was a great day - but no good idea at all that we took a ride on the raft ride. After we left it the chilly wind reminded us that it was still March... (*grins* and poor Joshie had to drive home in his wet clothes ... errr ... well ... yes ... right)

Last week - but no sad thoughts allowed. It is all a matter of time ....
Wednesday was my "name-day" and I invited us to Mangia as we love the pizza there so much but it is so expensive that we only go there on special days ... and yes, we went! Because we were good kids. And then we got insane - we wanted dessert, and for dessert we wanted ice cream from Amy's. The next Amy's we knew of was on 6th street. And yeah, we walked! We walked the whole way from Mangia to Amy's ... and the way back! Oh we were so dead when we arrived home again, so dead but also so happy and proud of ourselves.
The weekend came and Josh's parents came over with an Easter basket!

And then the evil day was there ... but it is all a matter of time. No sad thoughts, no sad thoughts - but tears will always run, no matter what!
Just a matter of time and I will have a new countdowner.
Just a matter of time and I will sit in a plane again.
Just a matter of time and I will be a happy girl again...
